Sophie Czornij Withers, 91, of Moravia, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Sophie was born in Owasco, the daughter of the late John and Mary Slymak Czornij. She was a life resident of the area. She retired from Smith Corona.
Mrs. Withers is survived by her daughters Joanne Withers of Moravia and Barbara (Richard) Bell of Throop, four grandchildren Dana Canavan, Carlton and Robert Conklin, and Brandon Bell, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Roland Withers in 2009, her daughter Susan Canavan, granddaughter Bobbie Jo Canavan and grandson Roland “Buddy” Bell.
Funeral services fo Mrs. Withers will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday at the Plis Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fleming.
Friends are invited to call Monday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home, 220 State St., Auburn.
