Paul L. Flurschutz, 86 years of age passed away peacefully with his family by his side Saturday May 27, 2017.
Paul was born September 3, 1930 in Dansville, NY. He was the son of the late Glenn & Flossie Langdon Flurschutz. Paul was one of three brothers Edward (Lois) Flurschutz of Wellsville NY, and Ronald (Roxie) Flurschutz of Rochester NY.

Paul, Margie and Mark spent many happy times both in their home and vacations in Wellsville and Florida. It was a loving relationship of trust, love and peace that blessed all of their days. Also surviving are a niece and two nephews.
Paul was a graduate of Wellsville High School, Alfred University and Syracuse University. He met the love of his life and bride to be while attending Alfred. His career began in the US Air Force, in 1951.He was stationed in Texas and Alaska, where he was a Russian interpreter.
After moving back to New York in 1952, his professional career began as a math teacher at Central High School. He was Asst. Principal at Weedsport High School and at East High School in Auburn. In September of 1970, as the Director of Guidance, he was instrumental in launching the new Auburn Comprehensive High School Program. His claim to fame was the implementation of the “Mod” system to coordinate the movement of class schedules. Eventually his career would swing to Cayuga Community College where he took on the role of Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, finishing out his full time career as Dean of Student and Community Services at CCC. Until recently, he returned to his passion of mathematics as a part-time adjunct professor. Not a day goes by that one of Paul’s students doesn’t mention how their life was touched by Paul in so many ways.
Paul enjoyed spending time with family. His granddaughters were the apple of his eye. They cherished the endless laughs between them, loved his hilarious sarcasm, humorous jokes, the “high fives” and receiving a dollar each time they visited him. He enjoyed annual visits back to his home town of Wellsville, visiting his family, friends and to enjoy a hotdog at The Texas Hot He enjoyed playing golf, and taught his son Mark the game of a lifetime at the age of four. He also loved gardening and the challenge of growing the perfect tomato. He was a member of St. Nicholas orthodox Church, and has served as the Choir Director for many years.
