You do not know me but when your mom was the junior choir director at the James St. Methodist Church in the 1950's (before she was married and for a short time after her marriage), I was the piano player for the choir- I was in my early teens and your mom was in early 20's. We had a wonderful time practicing and singing for church pageants, and the major church holidays. She entertained the choir at her new home when she and your dad first purchased the home. We were all city folks and I still remember the amazement when we looked out the kitchen window and saw chickens in the back yard!
I started as a substitute organist for two weeks at James St. church when I was 14 years old and the two weeks went on for almost 60 years, until the church closed in July 2016. Those were wonderful years and some of the persons who were members of your mom's junior choir sang with the Adult Choir for 40 or 50 more years. The church had a new pipe organ designed and built for the sancutary in 1979.
I haven't seen your mom in probably about 60 years but I have fond memories of her and when I read your dad's obit in the paper several years ago the memories came forward then as they are now!
