Obituary for Carol A. Czolowski (Greenfield)

Carol Ann Greenfield Czolowski, 71, of Owasco, New York, passed away peacefully at Auburn Community Hospital on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 after a battling Breast and Thyroid Cancer since 2016.
Carol was born September 15, 1946 in Auburn, New York to the late Clyde and Virginia Dent Greenfield. She graduated from Skaneateles Central High School and Cayuga Community College. Carol retired in 2006 after working for the federal government for 31 years. At the time of her retirement she was employed by the Internal Revenue Service in Ogden, Utah as an Internal Revenue Agent with Indian Tribal Governments.
Carol was a former 4-H member and leader, former Big Sister with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and a member of the Owasco Reformed Church. She was a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She joined Skaneateles #505 in 1965, serving as Matron in 1973, and remained a member until 1998 when the Skaneateles chapter merged with Morning Star #289 in Marcellus. She continued her membership in Marcellus where she served as Matron in 2011 and held a Grand Office. Over the years she held many other offices and positions. She was a former member and Queen of Villaka Triangle #117 in Skaneateles.
She was a life member of the Auburn Community Hospital Auxiliary and a long-time member of the North American Gladiolas Council. She and her husband had grown and shared them with friends for years.
Carol is survived by her husband of 49 years Stanley M. Czolowski, son Christopher A. Czolowski (Dawn) of Baldwinsville, daughter Christina, brothers Neal Greenfield of Manlius and Roy Greenfield of Venice Center, and her sister Mildred Hole of Owasco, numerous nieces and nephews and her grand dog Buddy. She was predeceased by her brother Raymond Greenfield of Fairfax, VA.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. Friday, January 19, at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St., Auburn. Services will be private, burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Shriner’s Hospital.
