Obituary for Margaret M. Hunt (Griffin)

Margaret M. Hunt, 72, of Camillus, NY passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016. Margaret was the daughter of the late Michael and Olga Griffin of Syracuse, NY. She worked as a Supervisor at New Venture Gear for 34 years and retired with her late husband, Jack Herrick. She had a deep compassion for animals and over the years they provided her with many years of happiness and she provided them with perfect love. She was a longtime parishioner at St. Joseph's Church in Camillus.
Peggy is survived by her sons, Gerald (Jodi) of Marcellus, Christopher (Cheryl) of Marcellus, and Jon Hunt of Illinois as well as grandchildren, Grace, Noah, Ryan and Jillian. She also leaves behind her sisters, Patricia Dolson (Mary and Lee) and Bridget McDaniels, stepdaughters Julie Vesely (Nicole and Natalie), and Wendy Sawtelle (Blake and Jenna). Peggy will be remembered as a woman fiercely loyal to those she loved and cared about. She will be missed tremendously.
Calling Hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 25th at Plis Funeral Home, 33 North St., Marcellus, NY. Services will be private for the family.
Contributions may be made to either the SPCA or a charity of your choice.
