Following a glorious summer sunset, Barbara (Rice) May passed away peacefully on July 9, 2018. Born in 1933 on Otisco Lake, NY, Barbara lived most of her adult life between Central New York and Florida, where she worked for Carrier Corporation and Florida Air. Barbara was a generous soul and possessed a dry, quick-witted sense of humor. Her perfectly timed one-liners provoked many a belly laugh. To know her was to love her. She was predeceased by her son, James Smith, Jr.
She is survived by her grandson, James Smith, III, sister, Nancy Simmons, sisters-in-law, Kapua Rice and Roma Rice, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial will be held at the Amber Cemetery on Sunday, July 22nd at 11 a.m.
