Obituary for Carol J. Fedyshyn (Stoddard)

Carol J. (Stoddard) Fedyshyn, 85 of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 10th, just short of her 86th birthday.
Born to Harold and Rose (Tyrala) Stoddard, in Auburn, NY on December 19th, 1937, she was one of twelve children. She met the love of her life Al in 1955, and they were married on September 8th, 1956, in SS Peter & Paul Church. They spent 67 wonderful years together making beautiful memories. After raising her six boys, Carol was employed as a unit secretary at Auburn Memorial Hospital, where she was adored by all who had the pleasure of working with her. She retired in 2000, and has spent the last 23 years raising her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
In her free time Carol enjoyed volunteering for the church, including making bread and pierogis, reading books and playing cards. She was also a three time bowling champion. She was an avid NY Giant fan, and you could always find her with a glass of wine in her hand, yelling at the TV while watching the game. Carol will always be remembered as a woman of strong faith and a heart of gold. To know Carol was to love her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Al, six children Allan (Julie), Gerry, Michael (Anne), James (Melissa), Daniel (Mary), and John (Kristin); 12 grandchildren Michael, Rebecca, Corrine, Mikey, Cassie, Lauren, Tanya, Samantha, Joshua, Jared, McKenzie and Lucas; and 8 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters Joan Moschetti, Deb Stoddard and Shirley Vogt; brother Tony Stoddard, special aunt Josie Clancy, her loving furry companions Kaylee and Boots, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Harold and Rose, in-laws Stephan and Anastasia Fedyshyn, brothers Ed, Frank, Harold Jr., Don and Tom; sisters Mary Anne Stoddard and Virginia Pierce, brother-in-law Basyl Fedyshyn and his wife Mary; infant son Nicholas and grandson Scott.
Funeral services for Carol will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in SS Peter & Paul Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St.
