Obituary for Carol J. Rice (Lane)
Carol J. (Lane) Rice, 63, of Preble N.Y. passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 6, 2022. Carol was born and raised in Bath, New York. She retired from Napa Auto Parts in 2021 after working there for over 30 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Many nights she would be engaged in a backgammon game with her husband. Carol loved a good game of Scrabble too. She and her family also loved to play along with Jeopardy while watching it nightly. Carol could often be found relaxing outside watching her beloved hummingbirds, dragonflies and butterflies.
Carol is predeceased by her father, Earl Lane. She is survived by her husband Terry Rice, son Earl Rice, stepsons Joseph (Harmony) Rice and Jason Rice, mother Mary Lane, brother Carl ( Luella) Lane, sister Brenda (Kenneth) French and several nephews and nieces. She also leaves behind her beloved pet’s, Abby her dog and Rusty her cat.
Calling hours will be held from 4 PM to 6 PM on Tuesday July 12, 2022 at Plis Funeral Home 33 North St., Marcellus, NY with a Memorial Services to follow at 6 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amber Congregational Church, 2366 Otisco Valley Rd., Marietta, NY 13110 or to Helping Hounds, 7268 Caswell St., N. Syracuse, N.Y. 13212.
