Obituary for Carol A. Stalker (Stilwell)

Carol A. (Stilwell) Stalker, 90, passed away peacefully at The Commons in Auburn, NY on January 6th, 2022. Carol was born on January 28th, 1931 to Georgia and Raymond Stilwell and grew up in Navarino, NY.
She was a proud graduate of Onondaga Central High School. Following graduation she married Robert D. Stalker, and they had three sons.

Carol's boys were her pride and joy! She was their "Den Mother" for Scouts; respected and adored by many members of her community.

Artistic, creative and crafty by nature she was known within her family, and the Community, for her quiet but strong, dedicated and compassionate leadership. She was a member of the Marcellus First Presbyterian Church, and an active member of the Presbyterian Women's Association for many years.

She loved the vast beauty of Nature, whether gardening, walking, star gazing or gathering seashells. She found joy within the appreciation of her surroundings, and the very gift of life.

Carol was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Robert (2004), and her eldest son John (2013). Survived by her sisters-in-law: Louise O’Brien and Deanne Stilwell, her sons; Donald (Harriet) and Charles (Rachael); Grandchildren; Rebecca Hakes (Peter), Tracy, Alicia and Kerri Prince (Brian). Great Grandchildren; Robert, Gabriella, Jesus Jr., Nicolas and Lucas. Along with several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude, utmost respect and heartfelt appreciation to all of the Staff at The Commons for their care and compassion over the past three years.

There will be no calling hours and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Carol's memory to the Marcellus First Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer's Association, CNY Chapter, P.O. Box 12226, Syracuse, NY 13218 (alz.org)
