Obituary for Celia A. Smura

Celia A. Smura, 83, of Marcellus passed away Monday March 9, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Solvay to the late Anthony and Stella Dabrowski, Celia was a homemaker and loved to read and write cards to friends and family to keep in touch. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Marcellus and a former member of St. Cecilia's Church in Solvay. Celia was predeceased by her husband Dr. Bronislaw "Bernie" Smura in 2009.
Celia is survived by her son Bronislaw "Bernie" (Maria) Smura Jr., of Seneca Falls; daughters Constance (George) Chiodo of Liverpool and Veronica Rose (Joel) Marquez of Virginia; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and sisters Jane Babinski of Syracuse, Sister Mary Francis Dabrowski of New Jersey and Theresa (Richard) Zera of Warners.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. on Friday March 13 at St. Francis Xavier Church. The Rite of Committal will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus. Friends and family may call on the family from 5-7 p.m. Thursday March 12 at the Plis Funeral Home, 33 North St., Marcellus.
