Obituary for David Parker Hemphill

David Parker Hemphill, of Auburn, passed away Saturday October 4, 2014.
Mr. Hemphill was born September 3, 1923 in Chicago, Ill, the son of the late Clair and Carolyn Parker Hemphill, and spent his early years in Aurora, Ill. He was a flight officer in the Army Air Corps during WW II, piloting B-24's and B-17's. After the war he received a degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University. He relocated to upstate New York in 1960 as sales manager for a national automotive firm, and lived in Skaneateles for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and in later years played golf.
He is survived by his daughter Linda Hemphill Adams (Robert) and his son James Parker Hemphill, both of Titusville, FL, two grandsons Dr. Parker J. Adams of Roanoke, VA, and Seth R. Adams of Savannah, GA, five grandchildren and several nephews. He was predeceased by his second wife Virginia MacDaniel Hemphill in November 2012, his sister Carol Hemphill McCoy, and his brother Thomas J. Hemphill.
Mr. Hemphill was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Auburn where a memorial service will be held at a later date.
