Obituary for Donald Smart
Donald Smart, 73, of Auburn, died Tuesday December 8, 2014, at his residence, with his family at his side.
Don was a life resident of the Auburn area, the son of the late Earl and Helen Coleman Smart. He was retired from Central New York Bottle, and prior to that was employed by Stauffer Chemical. He was a great woodworker, and liked to "invent" things. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. In earlier years, he was active with drum and bugle corps.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ludmilla "Millie" Kosct, three daughters, Deborah (William) Parsons of Cayuga, Linda (Thomas) Lupo and Christina (Steven) Mattes all of Auburn, and his son Joseph (Anne) Smart of Mooresville, NC. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 2+ great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Smart will be at 10 A.M. Friday at the Plis Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Half Acre. Friends are invited to call Thursday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home, 220 State St., Auburn.
