Obituary for Eleanor Joslyn McAllister

Eleanor Marguerite Joslyn McAllister, 90, of Phoenix, NY passed away Tuesday morning at James Square Nursing Home. Ellie was born in Syracuse and lived most of her childhood in Scipio Center. She enlisted in the Navy in April 1945 and spent the remainder of WWII as a dispatcher in San Diego. She was an original member and treasurer of the Salt City Blues Unit #80. Ellie loved to sing and was a member of the Sweet Adelines for many years. She was also an active member of the Little Utica United Methodist Church.
Survived by her sons Jack McAllister (Carolyn), James McAllister (Cindy), daughter in law Donna McAllister, brother Carl Joslyn, sister Betty Dunford, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Francis, brothers William Joslyn, Donald Joslyn, and her son Joel McAllister.
Calling hours will be from 1-3 p.m. Saturday January 18 with a memorial service immediately following at 3 p.m. at Little Utica United Methodist Church, 1459 Lamson Rd. Phoenix, NY
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Little Utica United Methodist Church, 9100 Prine Rd. Baldwinsville, NY 13027 or Alzheimer's Association Central New York, 441 West Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse, NY 13204.
