Obituary for Elizabeth "Lizzie" Lathrop

Elizabeth (Riggall) "Lizzie" Lathrop, of Marcellus went on her final cruise with her husband on June 22, 2013. Lizzie was born August 30, 1918. She married the love of her life, Clayton G. Lathrop on July 3, 1937. They were married for 61 years.

Lizzie was a homemaker for several years and then went to work at the Crown Woolen Mills. She retired after working several years driving school bus for MCS.

Lizzie and her husband were Matron and Patron of Morningstar Chapter #289, OES in 1987. Lizzie was a member of the chapter for over 25 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, F. Carl Riggall Sr. and Lillian (Rice) Riggall, her husband Clayton George, her son James, her sister Anna Weeks, her two brothers, F. Carl Riggall, Jr. and William Riggall, her son-in-law John Domurat and daughter-in-law Mary Anne Lathrop.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane Domurat, and sons Tom (Diane), Dick (Pat) and Harry Lathrop all of Marcellus. She is survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Two sister-in-laws, Audrey Riggall and Evelyn Riggall, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday June 26 at 10 a.m. at Plis Funeral Home. Calling hours will be on Tuesday June 25 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home 33 North St. Marcellus.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Marcellus United Methodist Church 1 Slocombe St Marcellus, NY or to the Marcellus Historical Society PO Box 165 Marcellus, NY.
