Eugenia had the following wishes for expressions of sympathy in her name; Smile with a child. Take a child or friend for a walk in the woods. Take the time to see the beauty in a flower, and in its seeds. Listen to the messages that birds relay in their songs. Do a good deed. Go outdoors and lie on the ground and look up at the sky. Watch the clouds and imagine the faces they show. Catch some big snowflakes. Study the silver threads that make a flower in a milkweed pod. Walk along a stream and listen to the sounds of life it makes. Welcome spring by looking for wildflowers, and listening to birdsongs. On a bright starry night, go out and watch the stars. Paint a ceiling in a child’s room blue, and paint silver stars all over it. Sing a song to a child, and to your loved one. Teach children to love themselves and the earth. Climb a mountain to the top and look at alpine wildflowers, then lie down and look at the clouds. Do all of these things with someone you love.
Friends are invited to call Sunday, April 28th from 1 to 4 P.M. , with a service to follow at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St., Auburn. Burial on Monday in St. Joseph’s Cemetery will be private.
The family has created the “Everything is Connected” Scholarship in Eugenia’s memort. Contributions may be sent to the Cayuga Community College foundation 197 Franklin St., Auburn, 13021 in her memory.
