Obituary for Gordon F. "Toro" White

Gordon F. "Toro" White, 88, of Genoa passed away peacefully Tuesday November 25, 2014 at the VA Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Syracuse, to the late Elton and Clara White, Gordon was a farmer for his entire life having different farms around the Syracuse area. He was also a big truck mechanic for Ras Delivery Services. Gordon was an avid outdoorsman and loved to show horses which he did for several years at the NY State Fair. He was also a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years the former Annette Morrissette; daughters Debbie (Stewart) Shute, Brenda (David) Hildreth and Ann White; sons Alfred (Alma), Ricky (Sherri), Merle (Sandi), Danny (Kelly), Mitch (Stephanie), Lester (Michelle), Scott (Kim) and Timmy (Nina). He also leaves behind his sisters Lucille (Al) Sponable and Sue Bonaccio, 31 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Gordon will be 11 a.m. Monday December 1 at the Plis Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be in South Onondaga Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on the family from 1-4 p.m. Sunday November 30 at the funeral home, 33 North St., Marcellus.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
