Obituary for Harvey "Bud" Belcher, Jr.

Harvey “Bud” Belcher, Jr., passed away peacefully at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center on April 25, 2022. Born to the late Harvey Belcher and Dorothy (Macfarlane) Belcher on September 16, 1946 in Watertown, NY. He was predeceased by his mother in 2001 and father in 1998 as well as son Andrew in 1984, grandson Hunter in 2021 and brother Raymond in 2007.
Bud proudly served in the United States Coast guard from 1966 to 1972. After discharge from the military bud embarked on a journey of owning his own business with his wife Susan. Together they owned and operated BSB Sales and Service in Syracuse, NY from 1995 to 2021. He is known for his kindness, his ability to help any and all he could and his willingness to put his own needs aside for others. He loved all of his grandchildren and those who he “adopted” as grandchildren as well. He loved fiercely and we all knew that when he said “drive safe” it was his way of telling us he loved us. His favorite things to do were play with his beloved dogs and grand dogs and watch anything to do with classic cars.
Bud is survived by his loving wife Susan (Jones) Belcher, his daughters Andrea Belcher of Skaneateles, Melissa (Travis) Griffin of Jack’s Reef, Katelyn (Joseph) Belcher of Homer, grandchildren Taylor, Brandon, Emma, and Colton. He is also survived by his sister Ruth Ann Blauevelt of Lacona, NY and his brother David John Belcher of Pittsfield, MA as well as many nieces and nephews.
As dad always said… “Later”
