Obituary for Irene F. Preske
Irene F. Preske, 92, of Syracuse passed away Monday August 22, 2011 at Upstate University Hospital @ Community General. Born in Syracuse, she worked as a sale associate and taught classes at Aunt Mary's Yarn. Irene was a graduate of Solvay High School and was a member of the Cedarvale Home Bureau. She loved to cook and taking trips and going to Turning Stone with the Camillus Seniors. She was predeceased by her husband Carl A. Preske in 1975.
Irene is survived by her daughter Irene (Wayne) Gutchess of Groton, sons Carl of Fulton and Duane (Karleen) Preske of E. Syracuse; sister Eleanor Sorbello of Clay; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 12 noon on Friday August 26, 2011 at the Plis Funeral Home and 12:30 p.m. in St. Francis Xavier Church. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call on the family from 10:30 a.m. –noon Friday at the funeral home, 33 North St., Marcellus.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either the Marcellus Ambulance or Navarino Fire Department.
