Obituary for Jamie L. Johnston (Palmer)

Jamie L. Johnston, 63, of Marcellus passed away peacefully Tuesday May 29, 2018 at Upstate University Hospital after a short illness.
Jamie was a member of the Marcellus First Presbyterian Church for 52 years, where she served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for over 20 years. She was a member of the Marcellus Historical Society and Friends of the Library. She started the Alzheimer’s walk in Marcellus in honor of Jim Stevens.
She graduated from Marcellus High School and went to Auburn Community College. She worked as an aide at Marcellus Central School and also was a child-care giver.
Jamie is survived by her mother, Phyllis Palmer; son, Terry (Marissa) Johnston, several cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Earl Palmer in 2009.
Special thanks to Joan, Diane, Gerry, Karin and many others, including those on the oncology floor and department at SUNY Upstate.
Graveside services will be Saturday, June 9 at 10 a.m. at Highland Cemetery in Marcellus.
