Obituary for Janice T. Nightingale (Friescholz)
Janice T. Nightingale, 70, of Marietta, NY passed suddenly and peacefully from cancer at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday, December 15th, 2018. Born to the late Joseph and June (Hummels) Friescholtz in Buffalo, NY on October 31st, 1948, Jan was known for having a kind heart, a strong spirit, and a quick wit. She enjoyed gardening, caring for the many animals and pets she had over the years, and never lost hope of a victory for her beloved Buffalo Bills no matter what. She was fiercely loyal to and protective of her family - always going out of her way for them and keeping them together during hard times.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Peter Nightingale; the three adult sons, Gregory Amedro, Steven Nightingale, and Scott Nightingale; her grandson, Gavin Amedro; her older siblings, Joseph Friescholtz and Joanne Mullen; and many other adored family and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 22nd, 2018 from 12 PM until 3 PM at Plis Funeral Home, 33 North Street, Marcellus, NY 13108. Jan will be honored with a private ceremony at a later date.
