Joan Campbell Root passed away on October 25, 2018 at home. Joan was born November 6th, 1947, the daughter to Carl and Gertrude Campbell. She grew up in Marcellus, NY and graduated from Marcellus High School. She worked as a warehouse manager for Onondaga County. She was also past president of the Howlett Hill Fire Department Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband Thomas Root; three children, William Root of Marcellus, Andrew (Melony) Root of Jordan, and Nicole (Aaron) Felbur of Granby; four grandchildren, Taylor Felbur, Haley, Cody and Caden Root; three brothers Paul Campbell, Art Campbell, and Dave (Bonnie)Campbell, several nieces and nephews.
Services were held privately for the family at Plis Funeral Home in Marcellus. Friends and family are invited to call 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Howlett Hill Fire Department, 3384 Howlett Hill Rd., Syracuse, NY.
