Obituary for John G. Whyte

John G. Whyte, 72, of Weedsport, died Wednesday at the Howd Nursing Home, Moravia, surrounded by his loving family.
John was a life resident of the Weedsport –Auburn area, the son of the late Gordon and Gladys Gilander Whyte. He was the owner of Whyte's Plumbing and Heating. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of the Swietionowski-Kopeczek Post, American Legion, of Auburn, the Weedsport Rod and Gun Club, and Past Commander of the Port Byron American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bonnie Dunchak White, his daughters Tammy (Sal) Labaro of Moravia, Cheryl (Jimmy) Saroodis of Weedsport, his son John David Whyte of Weedsport, Stepson Thomas Whiffen of Auburn, and son Chris Holman of Michigan. Also surviving are his grandchildren Anthony and Amanda Labaro, Brittany Saroodis, Payton and Nadia Whyte, Kimberly and Lori Wilson, Justin and Michael Whiffen, Amanda Holman, great grandchildren Alex and Brionna Wilson, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Bonnie Sears, and step daughter Lori Whiffen.
John's wishes were to have no formal calling hours or services. Friends are invited to a gathering that will be held Saturday, July 27, from 1 to 4 P.M. at the home of Cheryl and Jimmy Saroodis, 2735 Green St., Weedsport.
