Joyce E. (Sweeney) McManus, 87, passed away peacefully at Loretto Health (Cunningham) on December 19. She was born to Alfred and Ercile Sweeney on August 5 1933. Joyce lived and graduated school in Warners N.Y. before moving to Marcellus. She married in 1953 and was a loving wife and mother. She received her degree from Syracuse University, and worked as a social worker at Castle Rest Nursing Home until her retirement. Joyce had a thirst for knowledge, history and gardening along with a love of camping and traveling with family and friends. She was also blessed with a wicked sense of humor. Joyce was predeceased by her husband Richard and sister Linda.
She is survived by her children Kathy (Mike) Pennisi, Jeffrey (Penny) McManus, 3 grand children, 5 great grandchildren, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be at a later date due to Covid.
Memorial donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association.
