Obituary for June B. Gnagy (Buhrman)

June Marie (Buhrman) Gnagy, age 93 died peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2019 at St Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center, Syracuse NY where she spent the last 2 and a half years of her life. She was born on June 12, 1926 in Pittsburgh (McKees Rocks), Pa to the late Crystal Ferne Metz and George Upton Buhrman. June grew up in the Pittsburgh area graduating from Crafton High School and working for PPG She married Rev. Robert Harvey Gnagy on September 9, 1950 in Sheraton PA and once married she and her family lived in Western PA,(Churchill, Tarentum, Springdale) Wisconsin (Milwaukee, Clinton) and the last 49 years in upstate NY (Rochester, Lima, Penn Yan, Syracuse)

June was an accomplished secretary/administrative assistant but her main job was a Presbyterian ministers wife and mother translating to a prolific volunteer in church work, locally and nationally, as well as active involvement in volunteer work in the communities where the family lived. Music, scouts, feeding the needy were important aspects of her life. If there wasn't a program she thought was needed, she started one.

She is survived by daughters Susan Ferne (Gnagy) Fegan of Rehoboth Beach, DE
Pamela Jean Gnagy of Marcellus, NY and Elizabeth Marie Gnagy of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, grandchildren Lois Elizabeth Fegan, Robert (Rachel) David Anderson, John (Jesci) Buhrman Fegan, great-grand children Ada and Otto Anderson and Juniper Fegan as well as many much loved nieces and nephews from Florida to North Carolina ,Virginia to Ohio and California.

In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by her husband Robert Gnagy, her son Daniel Gordon Gnagy and sister LaVerne (Buhrman) Lankford.

A Celebration of Life Service for June will be held on Saturday August 17, at 11 a.m. at Lima Presbyterian Church, 7295 W. Main, Lima, NY 14485 The family will be available to receive callers at 10:00am in the sanctuary of the church. Burial will be private at the Gnagy Family Cemetery in Dysart Iowa.
