Obituary for Frederick Leubner

On the day he passed, a fellow pilot friend stopped by the farm to see him. Yet, Fred was already flying high above that morning. His passenger, Charlie, by his side. Fred Leubner passed away peacefully on the morning of April 14th, 2022. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 62 years, Alice Leubner, Daughter Karen, Son Tim (Erica), Son Edward (Traci), eight grandchildren, four great Grandchildren, and Sister (Marie Watts).

The most important things to Fred were his family, his airplanes, and his farm. All things that will be heavily cherished by those who survive him. Growing up, my Grandpa put on an intricate Easter egg hunt every spring. We would all hunt down the “golden egg,” while he smirked watching us desperately look for this prized possession. Looking back on it, I know he was smiling about the fact that we were all together as a family, and not so much about him knowing exactly where that golden egg was hiding. Well, maybe both.

The past few years, Fred spent his days driving around in his Gator, checking on the farm. Making sure everything was running smoothly. When he would pull up next to one of us, we would secretly be looking for his approval. The farm was built on his intense dedication and passion for a successful family farm. There was nothing that he couldn’t fix and he was a very talented wood worker. The Leubner family will carry on his legacy, in his honor.

The family will be having a private funeral in memory of Karl “Fred” Leubner.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Rose Hill Baptist Church.
