Obituary for Leo V. Murray

Leo Murray, 57 of Borodino died March 28, 2014 after having lived for nearly two years with pancreatic cancer.
Leo grew up on the Syracuse's West Side and attended St. Ann's, Corcoran High School and SUNY Oswego. In his early career, he worked in the restaurant business at several popular establishments as a Chef, Bartender, Waiter, and Manager. Later, he spent several years as a Real Estate Broker. Most recently, he worked for the Social Security Administration as a Social Insurance Specialist having received numerous awards of recognition throughout his career.
His family includes his loving wife, Debra Sawtell, stepdaughter Jennifer (Marc) and beloved grandsons, William and Caleb of Marcellus, brothers Tim of Philadelphia, PA, John (Janine) of Hingham, MA and Joe (Janet) of Bedford, NH, several nieces and nephews, mother and father-In Law, Bill and Shirley and the entire Sawtell family. He was predeceased by his parents, Martha and Bill Murray. Leo's friends were countless and, like his family, were cherished.
Those who knew Leo knew he was blessed with equal gifts of humor, sensitivity and integrity. What made him unique was his uncommon ability to always know how and when to use those gifts. He will be greatly missed.
At Leo's request, there will be no services.
In his memory, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central New York and/or to the Borodino Fire Department.
