Obituary for Marilyn M. Warnock (LaForest)

Marilyn Mable Warnock passed away on June 19, 2023 peacefully at her home under the care of her family and hospice.
Born in Newcomb, NY on January 28, 1942 to Henry and Laura LaForest, she graduated from Tahawus High School in 1961 and married her high school sweetheart, Robert Charles Warnock Jr on September 22, 1962. They eventually settled in Rensselaer Falls, NY where they raised their four wonderful children, Vanessa D. Warnock, Laura V. Warnock (McCormick), Robert C. Warnock III (Melissa) and Debora J. (Mark) Weeks.
Marilyn is predeceased by loving husband, Bob and devoted daughter, Laura along with her parents and her many brothers and sisters, whom she also loved dearly.
Marilyn worked for several local school districts "up north" as a Teacher’s Aide and retired from Herman Dekalb Central School in 2004. After retirement, Marilyn & Bob moved to Marcellus, NY where she resided until her death.
Marilyn was a devoted Catholic and was very active in St Francis Xavier Church. She enjoyed spending time with and caring for her family, camping, pinochle games, SU basketball, visiting and the occasional beverage.
She was truly a beautiful soul and along with being a wonderful wife & devoted mother, she was Gram to Billie Jo, Dustin (Kelli), Dan, Brandon (Bridgette), Cassondra (Noah), Ericka, Robert IV (Brittany), Courtney (Arthur), Meghan, Rebecca, Emily, and Mitchell & GG to Addilyn, Bentley, Kinsley, Emersyn, Josalyn, Owen, Noah, Giada & Charlie. Mom is also survived by her brother, Bernard, her many sister and brother-in-laws as well as her many nieces and nephews. We will greatly miss our prayer warrior for her laughter, guidance, her "what are ya doing? Are you ready to visit?"(...the answer was always yes) and her steadfast devotion to us all.

Viewing hours will be held at Plis Funeral Home, 33 North St., Marcellus on Friday, June 23 from 2 pm to 4 pm with a funeral mass at St Francis Xavier Church on Saturday, June 24 at 10 am.
