Obituary for Mary E. Gerbsch (Vidler)

Mary Elizabeth Gerbsch, 85, of Marcellus passed away on February 20, 2023 at Syracuse Home in Baldwinsville. Born in Marcellus to the late Richard and Myrtie Vidler, Mary was the fourth of 12 children. She graduated from Marcellus Central School in 1955, then worked at the Martisco Bean Mill and the Episcopal Diocesan office.
Known as an outstanding cook and baker, whether it was chicken and dumplings, jams and jellies, fresh bread or her famous pecan sticky buns, she was always ready to offer a hand or a meal to family and friends. You could always count on her baking your favorite birthday cake when that time came around. Mary was also an excellent bowler and was well known on the local ABC tournament circuit. When not cooking or bowling, she could be found working in her various flower gardens.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Kenneth and sister Evelyn Naioti. Mary is survived by her four children, Amy (Joseph) Kiselica, Marc Gerbsch, Todd Gerbsch (Tammy Poirier) and Scott (Margaret) Gerbsch and seven grandchildren: Erin and Michael Kiselica, Madison and Jack Gerbsch, and Jason, Tyler and Colin Gerbsch. She is also survived by her siblings, Richard Vidler Jr., Marilyn Michaels, Donald Vidler, Paul Vidler, Robert Vidler, Shirley Anthony, Dale Vidler, Sharon Naioti, Diane Kearns and Gerald Vidler.
Services at this time will be private for the immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s name may be made to Syracuse Home at McHarrie Place.
