Mary Frances Oberlender Forchion, 85 of Marcellus passed away Saturday January 21, 2023 at Upstate Hospital. Born in Lincoln, NE to the late Donald and Mary Oberlender, she was a graduate of Marcellus High School and SUNY Potsdam. Fran’s work career included teaching in the Baldwinsville School District then moving to California where she taught until her retirement. Fran loved spending time in her greenhouse and reading one of her many books as well as practicing sign language.
She is survived by her brothers George (Rosalie) Oberlender and Mark Oberlender. She also leaves behind her nieces Deborah (Michael) Plochacki and Amanda Oberlender, nephews Jeffrey (Farah) Oberlender and their son Kevin, Dana Oberlender and Jim (Kim) Oberlender and their daughters Amber and Alicia as well as many friends. Besides her parents she was also predeceased by her husband Charles Forchion and nephew Donald Oberlender.
Calling hours for Fran will be from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. Saturday January 28 at the Plis Funeral Home, 33 North St. Marcellus. She will be buried in Highland Cemetery Marcellus.
