Obituary for Michael Hulik

Michael Hulik, 88, of Auburn, died Thursday, April 18, at Auburn Community Hospital following a brief illness.
Mr. Hulik was a life resident of the Auburn area, the son of the late Michael and Anna Fanok Hulik. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corp., serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Auburn Correctional Facility as a Correction Sergeant, in 1989, following 33 years of service. In his earlier years he played baseball professionally with the Auburn Cayugas of the Border league. He was a communicant and active member of SS Peter & Paul Church, where he was an usher, past president of the Holy Name Society, and past president of the parish council. He was a member of the Marine Corp. League Auburn detachment, member of the Cymbrak –Fallat Post and Swietoniowski-Kopeczek Post American Legion. He was a member of the Falcon Sportsmen’s club, and past president of the “60” Club. He was a former Vice President of the Ukrainian National Club.
Mike is survived by his daughters, Jean (Paul) Glowacki and Lynn (Patrick) Nervina, both of Auburn, his grandchildren Jennifer (Bryan) Conte, Amanda (Tucker) Money, Melissa Glowacki and Jennifer (Michael) Bochenek, and great grandchildren, his namesake Hunter Michael Money, Hannah Wasney and Makenna and Alyssa Bochenek. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia Everitt Hulik in 1999, his brothers John, William and Joseph Hulik, his sister Helen Zerbny, infant brother William and infant sister Mary.
Funeral services for Mr. Hulik will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, April 23, from the Plis Funeral Home, and 11 A.M. in SS Peter & Paul Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Monday from 3 to 6 P.M. at the funeral Home, 220 State St.
