Obituary for Michael J. Spears
Michael J. Spears 77 of Marcellus passed away on Friday May 11th 2018 at Van Dyne Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, surrounded by his family. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Helen (Ryan) and Durward Spears.
He spent his entire carrier until retirement as an auto body and frame technician. Mike was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting fishing and trap shooting with his family and closest friends.
Mike was the strongest willed and stubborn man that anyone would encounter, if he liked you He would give you the shirt right off his back, If he didn’t he would be sure to let you know how he really felt. He would often say if you didn’t want my opinion, you shouldn’t have asked for it
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Patricia (Root) Spears, sons Michael (Marykay) Spears of Syracuse, and Mark (Charlene) Spears of Naples Florida. He also leaves behind his granddaughters, Jessica, Cassandra, Stephanie, Rachel, and Shannon, great grandsons Dominick and Aidan and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Mike will be 10 a.m. Friday May 18, at the Plis Funeral Home. Relatives and friends may call on the family from 4-7 p.m. Thursday May 17 at the funeral home, 33 North St., Marcellus.
