Obituary for Monica Beth Hayner

On Saturday morning, May 14th, 2022, Monica Beth Hayner of Fayetteville, NY went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born on August 17th, 1953. She is predeceased by her loving parents JoAnn and Donald Hayner (Hayner Hoyt Corp). She is survived by her brother Robert Hayner and sisters Cynthia DeLapp and Nanette Hayner. She grew up in Manlius NY, and attended F-M High School and Endicott College.
She loved deeply and was deeply loved. Even in many challenges, she cared for others first and herself second. Rain or shine, she shone brightly with God’s radiant love and grace. She loved to talk and to pray with almost everyone she met. Her life was a display of kindness, strength, endurance, generosity, and self-sacrificing love. Our love for her is beyond words, itself a reflection of her, as she loved her family so dearly with every ounce of strength God gave her. Her creativity in all things from gardening, artwork, creature carving, games, and homemade gifts for her grandchildren leave an incredible impact and show another facet of her detailed and giving heart.
She is survived by her son Ryan Smith and wife Newsy, daughter Stephanie Ness and husband Brian, son Trevor Smith and wife Rachel, and son Darren Smith and wife Kasey. Her grandchildren Charlie, Eli, Eve, Annie, James, Rebecca, Judah, Luke, and another little one arriving in September, were her greatest joys, and she was affectionately known as “Gramkitty.” Her living legacy of persistent love, strength, and faith are a precious gift to those of us who knew her.
Calling hours will be at 10:00-11:00 AM Saturday May 21st at Lafayette Alliance Church. The Celebration of Life Service will follow afterwards at 11:00 AM
