Obituary for Myrtle Elizabeth Wright (Schumske)

Myrtle Elizabeth Wright (Schumske) of Sun City Center, FL, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at home with family.
Myrtle was born on June 13, 1924 in Rochester, NY. She started her career at The Graflex Company in Rochester, where she met the love of her life James Thomas Wright St. Their love story lasted 63 years, until James Sr. passed away on August 7, 2015.
Myrtle kept busy over the years as a home maker, raising 4 children, babysitting, and working many years at Auburn Community College Book Store. Myrtle loved to bowl, winning the Auburn Citizen Masters in the early 80’s. She also loved to play golf, was a member of Highland Park Golf Club for many years, and won the Women’s Bearsch Snyder Memorial Tournament in 1982.
Once James Sr. retired they moved to Sun City Center, Fl, and continued their love for the game of golf, building a house on a golf course. Myrtle continued playing golf into her 80’s and bowled until age 92. She would get together with the girls once a week to play cards, and loved her bingo 2 or 3 times a week.
She leaves behind one son James T. (Donna) Wright Jr., three daughters Patricia A. (Benny) Appleby, Deborah A. Wright and Tracy A. Beeler, four grandchildren, Stephanie M. (Edward) Smithler, James T. (Ana) Wright III, Jonathan K. (Kathleen) Beeler, and Morgan Beeler, four great grandchildren Elizabeth R. Smithler, Anabell C. Wright, Ava M. Wright and James T. Wright IV, and her sister Maryanne (Schumske) Figenscher.
Besides her loving husband, Myrtle is predeceased by several siblings and a son-in-law Steven Simmonds.
“Myrtle loved her family, always putting them first in her life, while putting her own needs on hold. She was truly an angel on earth. We will miss her every day.”
Funeral services for Myrtle are private. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
