Obituary for Nate Morabito

Nate Morabito, 85, of Auburn, died peacefully Thursday, October 13, 2011, at Matthew House, with his family at his bedside. Nate was a life resident of the Auburn area, the son of the late Anthony and Antoinette Cosentino Morabito. Until his retirement he was employed as a pipe fitter with Local 73 of Oswego. He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the Navy aboard the USS Pittsburgh. He was a life member and Past Commander of the Carnicelli-Indelicato Post, American Legion, and was active for many years with the Purple Lancers.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Carnicelli Morabito, with whom he would have celebrated 61 years of marriage this November, and three sons and their wives, Michael and Mary Ann Morabito of Charlotte, NC, John and Darlene and David and Patricia Morabito of Auburn. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Nathan (Kristen) Morabito, Ashley Ware, Mark and Christan Morabito, his great granddaughter Natalie Morabito, his sister Josephine Rabuano of Auburn, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Carman, Joseph, Frank, Samuel and Anthony, and his sister Theresa Morabito.
Nate's Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1 P.M. Monday in Sacred Heart Church. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends are invited to call Sunday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St., Auburn.
Contributions may be made in Nate's memory to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, or Matthew House.
