Obituary for Neal J. Weeks
Neal J. Weeks, 67, of Spafford passed away Monday at Upstate University Hospital at Community General. Born in Syracuse, he was a graduate of Marcellus Central Schools. Neal worked for the Syracuse Newspapers as a distributor until he purchased and operated Weeks Sunoco in Camillus in 1981. He was a member of the NRA and Corpus Christi Church in S. Onondaga. Neal was an avid NASCAR and Yankees fan and loved hunting. He was predeceased by his brothers Paul and Bernard Weeks.
Neal is survived by his wife Sally of Marcellus; sons Jeff (Joan) Weeks of Camillus and Mark (Debbie) Weeks of Marcellus; step son Scott (Kathy) Smith of Marietta; sisters Mary (Jerry) Young and Carol Weeks both of Marietta; brothers Ron (Ann) Weeks and John (Gloria) Weeks both of Marcellus; 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He also is survived by his close friend and caregiver Kathy Reichard.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday July 29 at St. Francis Xavier Church, Marcellus. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Friends and family may call on the family from 4-7 p.m. Thursday July 28 at the Plis Funeral Home, 33 North St., Marcellus.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either the Francis House or the Spafford Fire Department.
