Please know how much Mrs. Metroka meant to myself, my siblings and my parents. She meant so much to so many people. I have truly never heard anyone say anything bad about her. When my siblings and I were in school she was THE go-to person. Students, teachers, parents - everyone went to her for advice. She was a great teacher, a wonderful coach, and exceptional friend to everyone. I remember her helping my parents understand issues we were facing as students, helping us understand the issues parents face, helping kids understand each other better. The list goes on and on...
Mrs. Metroka had a great sense of humor and she touched the lives of countless people. I am among the most fortunate of people, because I got to know her not only as a student, but then again years later as an adult. The award that bears her name has great significance among the teaching staff at Weedsport. Rest assured, her legacy of service, dedication and kindness lives on in the hearts of all those lives she touched. She made all of us better.
May God be with her, and with all of you.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Theresa Leonardi & The Leonardi Family
