Obituary for Paul F. Rice

Paul F. Rice, 87, of Skaneateles passed away Friday May 23, 2014 at Upstate University Hospital. Born in Marcellus to the late Frank and Stella Rice, he was a foreman for the Onondaga County Highway Department. Paul was also a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. He was a member of the Finger Lakes Antique Power Club and loved to hunt and fish. He was predeceased by his wife Bettie Evans Rice in 2004.
Paul is survived by his two sons, Ronald Evans of Mineral, VA., and Gary (Virginia) Evans of Skaneateles; two daughters Janet (Wesley) Brenneman of Skaneateles and Linda (Krieg) Close of Lantana, Fl., a sister Jeannette Haney and a brother Jack Rice both of Marcellus. Ten grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services for Paul will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday May 28 at the Plis Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be in South Onondaga Cemetery. Friends may call on the family from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday May 27 at the funeral home, 33 North St., Marcellus.
Memorial contributions may be made to Marcellus Ambulance.
