Obituary for Ronald J. Winters Sr.

Ronald John Winters Sr., 89, of Navarino, went home to be with the Lord on November 10, 2022 surrounded by his family. Born on December 15, 1932, he was the fourth child of the late Boyd Sr and Sarah Winters. He met his wife Mary Lou, as a teenager and married her November 21, 1953. They went on to have 5 children, raising their family to follow the Lord. Ronald was a Sergeant in the Army and a Paratrooper during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged and went on to have a varied career including joining the Carpenter’s union. Being active in the New York and Texas Army Guards and a life member of the Navarino Volunteer Fire Department. He was a faithful member of Grace Assembly of God in Taunton. He would tell you his greatest blessings were his wife, children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Ronald is survived by his loving children Ronald Jr, Melody Smith, Randy (Stephanie), Melissa (Frank), Rebecca, and Allen (Elise) Winters. His grandchildren, to whom he was “Pappy” Stacy (Brian) Feocco, Heather (Scott) Ryan, Dale Anderson, Joy, Ashley (Charles), Clayton Winters, Adam, Jeffery, Cory, Morgan, Monika Schuyler. His Great- Grandchildren, Sarah, Ian, Jaiden, Gabriel, Lena, Ida, and Jeremiah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ronald was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Lou and his 5 siblings. Melvia(Leroy) Yarger , Boyd Jr(Cora), Wayne(Lois), Minnie (Paul) Hoopsick, Flora(Paul) Moslak. Also, by his 4 grandchildren, Colleen, John, Ronald III Winters and Nadine Amidon. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Friends may call on the family Wednesday, November 16th, from 10:00am – 11:30am followed by a service all at Grace Assembly of God, 4220 Fay Road, Syracuse, NY. Burial will follow at Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 4069 Howlett Hill Road, Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to Clear Path for Veterans, the Navarino Volunteer Fire Department or Grace Assembly of God in Syracuse, NY.
