Obituary for Rosina L LaFramboise

Rosina Louise LaFramboise, 68, passed away September 10, 2020 at home. She was born in Syracuse to the late Romeo and Evelyn LaFramboise. She graduated from Onondaga Central School, and received her AAS in nursing from OCC. She worked at Van Duyn Home and Hospital for 30 years, retiring as a head nurse which was one of her greatest accomplishments. Not only did she have the biggest heart she made sure everyone had everything they needed. Rosina loved gardening, making baby blankets and cooking for family and friends. Her dinner parties were a way of bringing people together. Rosina’s door was always open to people in need of a meal and a place to stay. Her compassion didn’t stop there with many donations to animal shelters and the rescue mission. Many will remember her love of Harley Davidson and fast cars. She would often reminisce about racing cars with her brother Rick, and loving the time she spent with her sister Barb, also picking on her little brother Phil. She lived a full life until losing her parents. When she lost them she lost a big part of herself. Every great memory and accomplishment can’t possibly be written in this short story, but they will live on in our hearts and minds.
She is survived by her sister Barbara (Michael) Greczyn, brother Phillip (Michelle) LaFramboise, and sister-in-law Connie Polfliet. Her children Ronald (Penny) Irwin, Barbara (John) Battaglia and Alton (Lori) Irwin, 6 grandchildren Dalton, Rosario, Ronnie, Jessica, Logan and Evy, great granddaughter Annabelle and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother Rick LaFramboise and sister Rose.
A Very special thank you to Rosina’s niece Bonnie Greczyn and husband Randy Carmona and their children Kyle and Keeane for their love and compassion they showed her in her final years.
Calling hours will be from 11-1 p.m. Friday September 18 at Apple Valley United Methodist Church, South Onondaga. Per NYS Guidelines masks are required and space limitations will be in effect. Burial will follow in South Onondaga Cemetery.
