Sandra S. Durniak
1944 – 2024
Sandra Sue (Eyes so Blue) Durniak passed away unexpectedly with family by her side on April 8, 2024 at Auburn Community Hospital.
Sandra was born December 19, 1944 in Auburn, New York, the daughter of the late Robert and Olive Ingerson. She was a graduate of Central High School, and worked for the Auburn Enlarged City School District for over 20 years. In her spare time she enjoyed ceramics, spending time with her family and her K9 companion Heidi RuRu.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 60 years John A. Durniak, her daughter Michelle (Jeff) Applebee, her sons Randy (Tina) and Mark (Kelly). She is also survived by her granddaughters Cory (Brett) Legan of Tennessee and Colleen Durniak of Auburn and great grandchildren Tripp, Jenna, and Sadie Legan.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 10 A.M. to 12 p.m. at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St. Funeral services will immediately follow at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
