Obituary for Steven Kany

Steven Kany, 93, of Auburn, died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Geneva General Hospital, following a brief illness.
Mr. Kany was a life resident of the Auburn area, the son of the late Thomas and Theodosia Palmer Kany. He graduated from Central High School, where he lettered in Golf, Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science degree, and Sampson College with a degree in Business Administration. He was a WW II Veteran, serving in the Army Air Corps, serving with the 854 Bomb Squadron, of the 491st Bombardment Group based in Deming, New Mexico. He received the Conspicuous Service Cross after completing 55 missions in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters. He was employed by Gunite Associates of Syracuse, International Harvester, and retired from General Electric, Auburn.
Mr. Kany is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Juli, and brothers Eugene, Paul, Harry, Michael and Borys Kany.
Services for Mr. Kany will be at 9:30 A.M. Wednesday in SS Peter & Paul Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no prior callings hours.
