Obituary for Vaughn "Jerry" Bentley
On Saturday, December 7th, 2013, Vaughn "Jerry" Bentley, 56, of Marcellus passed away suddenly.
Jerry was born and raised in Argyle NY, before moving to Marcellus in 1987. He graduated from Adirondack Community College with an Associates in Science Degree in 1979, along with the Glens Falls Hospital Radiologic Technology Program, graduating in 1979. Later Jerry received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Empire State College in 1998.
Jerry was previously a salesman for Diasonics and also worked at IMA. He has been employed at K & A Radiologic Technology Services in East Syracuse as an X-ray technologist since 1989.
Jerry enjoyed golfing, playing pitch, reading, jazz, watching old movies, cooking, and grilling out with friends. Jerry especially loved spending time with his beloved bloodhounds, Ruby May, Dixie Rose, and Daisy May. Many will surely miss seeing Jerry walking through town on his daily walks with the Hounds.
Jerry also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was most proud of his son, who is attending Law School.
Jerry was predeceased by his father, Vaughn Bentley, mother, Elinor Joyce (Saville) (Morey) Bentley and brother, Thomas Morey.
Surviving is his life partner of 18 years, Maria Demong, his son Vaughn Griffith Bentley of Chicago, IL, brothers Roger Morey of Sebastopol CA, Jay (Nancy)
Morey of Seminole Fl, John "Jack" (Traci) Morey of Vacaville CA, and sister Karen Bentley of Colfax, CA. as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jerry had an ability to make everyone laugh. Jerry has touched the lives of countless people and not a day will go by that he isn't thought of and greatly missed.
Calling hours will be Thursday December 19th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. at the Plis Funeral Home, 33 North Street, Marcellus, NY
