Obituary for Virginia S. Hemphill

Virginia S. Hemphill, 89, of Auburn, died Saturday, November 24, 2012. Mrs. Hemphill was a native of Fulton, and has resided in the Auburn area for many years. At her retirement, she had been employed by Westminster Manor. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Virginia was a loving mother and wife, also a community volunteer leader and activist. She loved to garden and cook, but her passion was as a guardian angel to people in need. One of her proudest accomplishments was her volunteer work with her boys at the Auburn Correctional Bible Study Group.
She is survived by her husband David Hemphill, her four children Barbara MacDaniel of Denver, CO, John MacDaniel (Joann) of Liverpool, NY, Meredith MacDaniel, of Livermore, CA and David MacDaniel of Titusville, FL, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons Danny and Douglas.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, December 18, 2012 in First Presbyterian Church of Auburn. Burial was in Mt. Adnah Cemetery, Fulton, NY
