Obituary for William J. "Bill" Burnette

William "Bill" J. Burnette passed away suddenly on Monday, December 30, 2013 in Marcellus, NY. Bill was born December 23, 1940 to George and Geraldine (Rising) Burnette in Syracuse, NY. Bill currently was the Marcellus Town Constable. He retired from Syracuse DPW as a heavy equipment operator and the Marcellus Police Department as a police officer. He is also retired from the Marcellus School District as a bus driver and from the U.S. Army Reserve's.
Bill is survived by his wife of 26 years, Susan (Pollard), his sister Lydia of Albany, his brothers, Donald, Tucson, AZ, Gerald, Fort Lauderdale, FL and David, Syracuse, NY. His children, Charlene (Bruce) Syers, William Jr. (Jill), Christine, Cheryl (John) Armstrong, Crystal Foose and Colleen Dalton and stepsons, Ned (Kristin) and Andrew (Crystal) Voss. Fourteen grandchildren, William (Bill) and Ashley Liedka, Breanna and Viktoria Burnette, David Frigon and John, Mason and Amelia Frias, Lisa Strout and Ryan Lambert, Gunner and Scotia Foose and Samantha and Aaron Dahl. and ten great grandchildren. Analisia, Juliana and Gabrielle Liedka, Cadance and Danika Burnette, Savannah, Mackenzy, Alysabeth and Marcus Strout and Sidney Dahl.
He is predeceased by his sister Charmaine Vrooman, and brothers, Frederick and James.
Services will be private. The arrangements are in the care of Plis Funeral Home, 33 North St., Marcellus, NY.
