Obituary for William G. Stoelzel
William George Stoelzel, 91, of Auburn went to be with the Lord on Friday June 14, 2019.
A native of Springville, NY, Bill was the son of the late David and Hilda Stoelzel. He has resided in the Auburn area for more than 5o years. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy, serving from 1946 to 1950. He had been employed as store manager of both Neisner Brothers Department Store, and Ames Department Store, retiring in 1992 following 40 years of service. He was an active member of Auburn United Methodist Church, and a member and past president of the Auburn Lions Club.
He leaves behind his wife of 69 years, Shirley Smith Stoelzel, his sons David Stoelzel and his sweetie Brenda Martins of Auburn and Richard Stoelzel and his wife Val of Montreal, Canada, grandchildren Jamie, David, Jennifer Leslie, Amanda and Gabriel and several great grandchildren.
Friends are invited to call Wednesday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St., Auburn. Religious services will be held at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Beth Malone officiating. Burial will be private.
