Obituary for William J. "Buddy" Wawro
William J. "Buddy" Wawro, formerly of Auburn, died Monday, July 15, 2013, following an extended illness.
Buddy was an Auburn native, the son of the late Katherine and Joseph L. Wawro. He was retired from the New York State Thruway Authority after more than 23 years of service. Prior to that, he had been employed by Cayuga Lanes, and Eddie's Fish Fry. He has resided in Syracuse for a number of years.
He is survived by his daughter Kathleen Schemerhorn of Auburn, his two sons Christopher (Lori) Wawro of Fair Oaks, CA, and Geoffrey Wawro of Pedericktown, NJ, and grandchildren Andrew and Emily Schemerhorn. He is also survived by his sister Phyllis Conway of Rochester, and his brother David (Maureen) Wawro, of Jordan. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley Flanigan Wawro, January 31, 1993.
Services and burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours.
